The Bitcoin App Bottle Pay Might Shut Down ...

Survivors of market disasters: In this disaster, some people actually made money

There is no need to repeat the tragic market. Various historical figures are present, and they all reveal a signal: this disaster is like an earthquake with no warning signs. The victims are everywhere, and the survival is a fluke.
But in this disaster, there are still people who make money.
If you still have the impression, on August 23 of last year, there was a problem with Amazon AWS 'server in Japan, which caused the products using the region's services to be affected to varying degrees, including the cryptocurrency trading platform. After discovering a problem with Binance using AWS, the user's deposit and withdrawal were suspended, but the trading platform using the Binance Quotation API failed to take timely measures, resulting in loopholes in market makers' strategies.
That day, while Bitcoin was still steadily maintained at 10,000 USD, some users bought Bitcoin at a unit price of 0.32 USD, and when there was almost no fluctuation in the market, they used the mistake of the server to add western food for the night. A bottle of champagne.
In this disaster after 5 months, some people still use the environment to find a way to survive.
Ethereum 0 dollar purchase?
A $ 0 purchase of Ethereum happened on March 13. The market plummeted, many mortgagors' positions were exploded, and ETH fell from $ 180 to less than $ 100 without resistance. The decentralized Defi market that depends on the value of ETH is naturally not immune, such as the MakerDAO platform. MakerDAO's borrowing logic is that users over-collateralize ETH to lend USD stablecoin DAI, but when the value of ETH fell rapidly, a large number of loans fell below the threshold and the system had to be liquidated. In other words, the user's loan was not repaid. Mortgage of ETH is also not available.
So MakerDAO has a bad debt, the amount exceeds USD 4 million. In order to repay this bad debt, MakerDAO chooses to auction the collateral, that is, ETH, BAT, etc., and uses the stable currency DAI to bid. They need to use the auction proceeds to obtain repay loan.
Under normal circumstances, such auctions are not too accidental. The feeding system reports the current price of ETH, and the bidders will probably trade at a price slightly lower than the market price.
However, the background of this auction is the market's plunge. The transaction caused investors to intensive operations, which blocked the Ethereum network. It takes far more than usual gas fees to allow the miners to confirm the transfer as soon as possible.
According to the browser, on the morning of the 13th, if only 44 gwei is used, the transfer confirmation time on the Ethereum network will take 72958 seconds, which is 20 hours.
The MakerDAO debt auction on the Ethereum network has also been affected. The blockage of the network has prevented bidders with low gas costs from bidding in time, which caused participants to bid 0 DAI / ETH to drop the hammer.
It can also be seen from the transaction records that the auction of 0 DAI was indeed successful. These lucky bidders only paid a transfer fee of US $ 1 and transferred 0 amount to obtain an ETH worth US $ 122 at the time.
These people are undoubtedly fortunate. The external environment helped them to become the only game participants. The exchange of $ 1 for $ 120 and a profit of 11900% was much higher than the odds of players who risked bottom-swinging in fluctuations.
However, from another perspective, MakerDAO's auction is to use the DAI obtained from the auction to pay off debts. However, due to network congestion, this situation has caused several free gifts, and MakerDAO's debt repayment is even worse.
Pick up goods by luck
If it is said that MakerDAO launches the auction, it is a helpless action of the team under extreme conditions. Bidders still need a bit of technical barriers to participate, but there is nothing to worry about, and there is almost no difficulty and cost.
On the evening of March 12, investors discovered that the LINK / USDT trading pair of the Binance trading platform experienced a short-term flash collapse and once fell to the bottom 0.0001 USD. What's going on?
Twitter netizens then asked Zhao Changpeng about the matter, and the latter's response was a shock. It turned out that someone had already launched the LINK trading pair as early as Binance, that is, on January 16 last year, a low was hung within 8 seconds after the real-time trading was opened. Price list, but it has not been closed because no fool will sell it at this price.
Unexpectedly, more than a year later, this pending order was sold "strangely". "At that time we had no price range restrictions. We will not cancel user orders." Zhao Changpeng said that the platform will not deny this order because the operation is completely reasonable.
It will not be rolled back for various reasons. In other words, even if LINK has experienced a large decline recently, at the current price of 2.3 US dollars, the profit of this transaction will exceed 2 million US dollars. US dollars, then he instantly won nearly 5 million US dollars.
The cost of 100 dollars, the income of 2.4 million dollars, a real profit.
In fact, similar examples of this kind of luck are not rare in the crypto industry. Except for Binance and the previous examples, BitMex and OKEx have also experienced similar situations, and more than once.
For example, on December 6, 2017, Binance's XRP / BTC trading pair experienced a breakdown of the list. In a very short period of time, the XRP price was oversold to 0.0000002 BTC, which is basically negligible. On January 29, 2018, the price of the ADA contract on BitMEX also fell to 0.00000005 US dollars, which was also nearly 0; another trading platform, OKEx, also saw a large amount of 0.002 USD on January 14, 2018. Case, according to the official statement at that time, "a certain trader" quickly sold a large amount of ETH through market orders within 12 minutes. Interestingly, at the time, some people analyzed that "a certain trader" was actually an official market-making robot, and "a large amount" of 100 million Ethereum was eventually sold for 20 dollars.
However, for ordinary people, if you want to encounter this kind of opportunity for leak detection, unless you are bored and place an order in advance, such a price is fleeting, and you ca n’t seize the opportunity simply by hand speed. In fact, at present, many trading platforms have actually adopted corresponding price amplitude filters, which specify the maximum / minimum price range of pending order prices. Oolong trading is very rare. Even if luck hits and catches up, it is very likely that the platform will intervene and the transaction will be rolled back. This situation has not happened before.
Only this time, the trader who had placed an order on Binance for more than a year, even if he successfully leaked and successfully withdrew the coin, it can only be said that he hit the Grand Canal.
Safe moving of bricks
Buying a certain kind of token on a crypto trading platform, and then selling the token to another trading platform, earning the price difference is a moving brick in the crypto circle. Moving bricks has been an arbitrage behavior since the birth of the transaction. It belongs to a very old business. Arthur, the founder of BitMex, who now operates a trading platform, and Xu Mingxing of OKEx, were once members of the army of moving bricks. . This kind of brick moving was the most prosperous at the end of 2017. At that time, trading platforms such as Bithumb in South Korea also called the "Kimchi premium" due to the price difference between other platforms. Moving bricks is a kind of risk-free arbitrage. Players use energy to gain profits, although the single profit is not much. However, with the maturity of trading robots and quantitative trading teams, the spread of tokens between multiple regions or platforms is often wiped out in a matter of seconds. Therefore, the profit margin of manually moving bricks is now very small.
Of course, it is not to say that there is no opportunity. Such an opportunity to make money is indeed hidden under the volatile market.
"Buy at a low price and sell at a high price, this is simply the most secure way to make money in a plunging market!" Investors are excited about cryptography. Starting at 6:30 pm on March 12, cryptocurrencies have experienced sharp fluctuations, while Binance and Huobi When the bitcoin spread between the three trading platforms and OKEx was the largest, it even reached more than 700 US dollars. The discerning player quickly discovered the opportunity, "For half an hour, I made more than 10,000 with a principal of 20,000 yuan. Such an opportunity is usually not available."
Buy and sell orders executed by the above investors at almost the same time, with a spread of nearly $ 450
When it comes to moving bricks, time is money. It is definitely too late to shuttle between multiple trading platforms. Many investors have now transferred the "battlefield" to the platform that focuses on aggregated trading. "The aggregated trading platform integrates the depth of multiple platforms. As long as there is a price difference between supported platforms, users only use One account can be bought and sold on multiple platforms, and it can be operated in a few seconds. "Wu Ling, who seized the opportunity from the extreme market in these two days, made nearly 50,000 by moving bricks in just a few hours. Yuan, the principal is no more than tens of thousands of yuan.
It is understood that there are already multiple platforms targeting the aggregate trading business on the market, and the opportunity to move bricks does not often appear, unless similar to the extreme market appearing in the past few days, or some unique tokens, there may be soaring and plunging. Opportunities, as a whole, are not met a few times a year, and they are fleeting.
However, whether it is MakerDAO auctions, ultra-low-priced pending order transactions, or arbitrage moving bricks under the new situation, these opportunities to make money are actually small probability and cannot be used as conventional investment methods.
These seemingly easy profits are in the end a few people. Many people are trapped in extreme quotes in stuns. Most investors have no assets left on the trading platform overnight.
Maybe this also makes many investors lose confidence in the industry, but in fact, in the face of such a market, after finishing our mood, we are more learning from changes.
Learn the reasons for this disaster, learn the logic of the main control panel, learn what signals were ignored before the disaster, and prepare for the next time. At the same time, we can also see the development of the industry. For example, when all centralized trading platforms are down, DEX can still be implemented despite various problems.
I hope that everyone still has confidence in the blockchain and cryptocurrency industries. Finally, I would like to remind everyone that the recent market changes are unpredictable. Please pay attention to risks and exercise caution.

Crypto Custody Firm Xapo Initiated 5 Whale Transfers On Nov 1 Citing data from the Bejijing-based blockchain security company Chainsguard, the Bitcoin network witnessed multiple whale transfers on Nov 1. At 21:10:38 UTC on Nov 1, Xapo, a Bitcoin custody service provider, has conducted five whale transfers with the largest amount within one transfer marking up to 20,000 BTC. The total number of moved BTC in these transfers records 65822.01. Many of these BTC originated from the transfers of 4,999 to 10,000 BTC collected by Xapo on the Bitcoin chain at 19:19:49 and 19:32:12 on the same day. One of the main BTC sources initiated by the address starting with 37whD5 was crypto exchange Bitstamp. Previously, the above-mentioned exchange announced that its custodian would change to BitGo. Otherwise, Bitstamp had a great transfer with more than 110,000 BTC involved on October 15. At 20:53:20 on Nov 1, the wallet address beginning with 3AdpZc initiated a transfer of 5000 BTC to the exchange Poloniex. After analysis, the source can be traced back to the coins accumulated by Poloniex in March 2016. Generally speaking, the whale transfer carried out by institutions comes from the needs of business or customers. Sometimes, it is only the planned wallet management.
Utah To Facilitate Voting For Disabled Individuals Through Blockchains Recent reports indicate that blockchain technology will soon be used in Utah, as part of a trial project meant to allow disabled individuals to cast their votes. To put things into perspective, the local council and government of Utah have decided to allow blockchain-based voting via smartphones in the upcoming municipal election that will take place in November. The platform that disabled voters will be using for this election represents the result of a fruitful partnership between the Utah Country Elections Division, the National Cybersecurity Centre, Tusk Philanthropies and Voatz, a local voting app development company.
Ethereum To Increase The Blocksize By 8x Ethereum is partially addressing the many complexities of sharding by simply increasing the blocksize from the equivalent of about 1MB every ten minutes to circa 8MB. Danny Ryan, the Ethereum 2.0 coordinator, publicly said: “We are making the blocks bigger based on recent research on safe block size and propagation times, so the data availability of the system is still > 1MB/s so you can still get similar scalability gains when doing things like ZKrollup and OVM.” ZK rollups are a hybrid scaling method that combines on-chain security and second layer networks through smart contracts and zero knowledge methods. OVM is the Optimistic Virtual Machine from Plasma, with both being more sort of on top of Ethereum’s public blockchain.

During the first quarter of the year, Bitcoin was trapped inside a tight trading range, where major players began buying the fear of retail crypto investors and accumulating the asset at the lowest possible prices.
Starting in the second quarter, the first-ever crypto asset rocketed up from that trading range, and went on a parabolic rally that didn’t stop until Bitcoin met former bear market resistance at $14,000 where it was rejected.
After three consecutive red monthly candles in a row, October closed green and kept a potential bull flag formation on monthly price charts intact, giving bulls hope that the crypto asset’s 2019 rally isn’t totally finished.

Stellar Lumens vs Other Cryptocurrencies
Lumens vs. Bitcoin: Jed McCaleb spoke at Distributed Markets in 2017 about the advantages, but more importantly, the disadvantages of Bitcoin. Listen to the talk here. Jed said, “Bitcoin is this awesome innovation. The first thing it does is converts a real world resource, electricity, into a digital asset. So it takes something from the real world and puts it into the digital realm. The second thing it does is provides immutable public record. It’s basically a database that everyone can see but no one change arbitrarily… That’s great, Bitcoin solves the double spin problem [ of proving possession and transmitting volume]… [However, to fix the problems of bitcoin] you might think well maybe we’ll just kind of keep adding [software] to Bitcoin until we get there, but that’s not really the way software works. You want to have the design from the beginning and solve these simple issues. Bitcoin was designed to be a new currency, it wasn’t really designed to be this unifying universal payment network. So that’s what Stellar does. It solves these three remaining issues.”
Lumens vs. Bitcoin #2: According to wired.com, "Bitcoin mining guzzles energy - and it's carbon footprint just keeps growing." Wired says "Today, each bitcoin transaction requires the same amount of energy used to power nine homes in the US for one day... The total energy use of this web of hardware is huge—an estimated 31 terawatt-hours per year. More than 150 individual countries in the world consume less energy annually. And that power-hungry network is currently increasing its energy use every day by about 450 gigawatt-hours, roughly the same amount of electricity the entire country of Haiti uses in a year." Because Stellar is based on a consensus algorithm rather than mining, it takes much less energy to run the Stellar network. The Poseidon Foundation decided to build their platform on Stellar rather than Ethereum or Bitcoin because of this (twitter source).
Lumens ICO tokens vs. Ethereum ICO tokens: According to Stellar.org, "traditionally, ICO tokens have been issued on the Ethereum network in the form of ERC20 tokens. ERC20 tokens are easy to issue and are infinitely customizable using Ethereum’s smart contracting language. However, recent events have highlighted and exacerbated some weaknesses of the network, including slow transaction processing times for the network during ICOs and increasingly expensive gas prices (by fiat standards) for transactions and smart contract execution. Moreover, many organizations require only basic tokens; they adopt the risk of Ethereum’s Turing complete programming language without taking advantage of many of its benefits."
"While Ethereum has the most expressive programming capabilities, we believe Stellar is the best choice for ICOs that do not require complex smart contracts. Stellar’s primary goal is to facilitate issuing and trading tokens, especially those tied to legal commitments by known organizations, such as claims on real-world assets or fiat currency."
Stellar vs. Ethereum #2: The median transaction time on Stellar is 5 seconds, compared to approximately 3.5 minutes on Ethereum (source). Stellar has a negligible transaction fee (.00001 XLM ~= $0.0000002) with no gas fee for computation, while depending on the complexity of the computation, the median cost for a transfer on the Ethereum network is $0.094. Security: While both Stellar and Ethereum run on a decentralized network, the Stellar network has fewer security pitfalls. Stellar uses atomic transactions comprised of simple, declarative operations while Ethereum uses turing complete programming capabilities which produces less auditable code and greater risk of exploitable vulnerabilities (source). Recently, a security flaw in the Ethereum network froze millions of dollars. According to Mobius ariticle written by David Gobaud, "On November 6, 2017, Github user deveps199 'accidentally' triggered a bug in Parity, a popular Ethereum mult-sig wallet, that froze more than $152 million in Ether across 151 addresses. The bug impacted several token sales including Polkadot, which has had ~$98 million out of its recent $145 million sale frozen."
"Mobius had none of its ongoing pre-sale Ether frozen because we do not trust Ethereum’s Smart Contract based multi-sig wallets given the vast Turing complete attack surface and did not use one. Security broadly is one of the main reasons the MOBI token that powers the DApp Store is a Stellar Protocol token and not an Ethereum token."
Lumens vs. Ripple: According to Wall Street Bitcoin Exchange, "Many investors like to compare the company [Stellar] to Ripple, and there are a lot of similarities, being that some of the founders worked on the Ripple team. In what can now be looked at as another blockchain development drama that plays out on chat boards and in interviews all across the globe. Stellar declared they fixed Ripple’s problems with their hard fork, however, Ripple has failed to admit to any of the flaws in its design that the Stellar team has pointed out." The article concludes by saying, "We Choose XLM Over XRP For 2018. That is why we are going with Stellar Lumens over Ripple in our portfolio for the rest of 2017 and 2018. After holding Ripple for a long time this year, it just never seems to make the big break like other names with bigger market caps like Bitcoin Cash, Dash, and Litecoin have. While we are holding on most all our larger market caps, we feel that Stellar Lumens will be one of the break out coins for 2018."
.
.
Conclusion
The stellar.org team is doing an amazing job making partnerships and pioneering the use of blockchain technology for various types of transactions. What we are seeing is a new technology that can actually be used to solve real-world problems. As a community, we need to continue supporting Stellar and we will quickly see it power transactions across the world. What are your thoughts about Stellar? What do you see in the future of Stellar? Huawei To Advance Commercial Application Of Blockchain, Says Director Of Huawei Blockchain ProjectRecently, blockchain has been a quite hot word in China after President XI Jinping claimed the emerging technology is vital to the future of the country. ZHANG Xiaojun, the director of the Huawei blockchain project, shared his opinions on the current development of blockchain in a recent interview. When talking about the obstacles faced by the blockchain in terms of the wide application, ZHANG pointed out four points. Firstly, users hope to increase revenue through blockchain, while the technology itself is to reduce operating cost; secondly, the security of blockchain technology is still insufficient, which may lead to new security risks in the application; thirdly, the shortage of cross-chain standards brings difficulties in the large commercial application of blockchain; lastly, blockchain is becoming an isolated island, which makes POC possible but blocks it to be commercialized. What Huawei faces is the first obstacle, according to ZHANG. He said the company intends to provide customers with a clear value demonstration for blockchain, which will help sweep aside customers’ concerns and enlarge their commercial application layout.Besides, regarding opportunities brought by 5G to blockchain, he stated that the blockchain technology would not only be deployed in the core cloud but also the edge cloud. And 5G can meet demands of large bandwidth and low latency for the edge cloud blockchain in the case of large commercial use.
China Launches A Blockchain-Based Identification System For Smart CitiesChina has launched a blockchain-based identification system for smart cities, aimed at better connectivity and data sharing between these cities. The system has been developed by three institutes in the city of Shijiazhuang and will assign a unique, global digital ID to nationwide smart cities, Global Times reported on Nov. 4, citing state-run Xinhua News Agency.ZHANG Chao, director of the Zhongguancun Industry & Information Research Institute of Two-dimensional Code Technology, one of the developers of the blockchain-based ID system, said that the system was self-developed by China and will be “independently distributed and managed by China, with a unified distribution rule, a resolution of distributed storage and tamper-resistant code.”

DAppTotal: Airdrop Of EIDOS Is A Disaster, Top Player May Profit Over Tens Of Thousands Of Dollars Citing data by DAppTotal, ever since EIDOS launched the airdrop event, the number of its 24h active users has reached 1,260, that of its 24h transactions has surpassed 1.89 million, and its 24h trading volume has registered 1,770 EOS. Such popularity has never been seen in any other EOS DApps, according to DAppTotal. Blockchain security firm PeckShield revealed that the airdrop event of EIDOS led to the price surge of CPU, which means normal EOS transactions between users could fail and most of the users are not able to play with gaming DApps under a congested EOS network. As reported by CoinNess.com earlier, the current CPU price for 1 EOS is 0.0001 EOS. Two days ago, however, one could use 1 EOS to rent 3,600 EOS for 30 days. This indicates an increase of more than 16 times because of the EIDOS hype. DAppTotal researchers found that as of now, players have made 35.83 million transactions, containing 3.39 million EIDOS tokens, to the account ‘eidosonecoin,’ 95% of which had only 0.0001 EOS sent. If a user sold all of the EIDOS tokens at peak prices, his or her earnings could be more than tens of thousands of dollars. It is really harmful to the EOS ecosystem, said the researchers.
At Least 23k Emails Leaked By BitMEX, Claims Research Director At The Block Larry Cermak, Director of Research at The Block, tweeted, “I now have access to 23,000 emails that were leaked by BitMEX. Surprisingly, there is only one person that used a .gov email. There were 66 students/alumni that used .edu email. NYU dominates (7 people), followed by Berkley, and University of Michigan.” BitMEX has previously made a response to the leaked email address in its blog post, saying that in this instance, beyond email addresses, no other personal data or account information has been disclosed and no further emails have been sent. “The error which has caused this has been identified and fixed, ensuring our usual high standards of privacy are upheld,” the company claimed.
Chinese VC Firms Returning To Blockchain, $368M Raised In H1, 2019 By Blockchain Startups Chinese venture capital firms are taking another look at blockchain. BTC — BTC has continued to maintain range volatility since yesterday and is still hovering around $9200. In the past 24 hours, the net outflow of BTC capital has exceeded US $30 million, and the outflow of market capital has decreased significantly compared with the previous period. Yesterday, BTC fluctuated a lot. In the afternoon, it pretended to fall below the $9000 level and quickly rebounded to the highest around $9467. Then it rebounded slightly after stepping back on the $9000 support twice in the morning. At present, the short-term market is still in the stage of interval fluctuation, and frequent operation here may be more difficult. It is recommended to take the medium and long-term line as the investment target. The upper resistance level is close to $9600, while the lower resistance level is close to $9000. In terms of operation, it is suggested to control the position for the time being. The risk of further write back cannot be excluded here.

WAX, The sleeping giant about to wake up?

This text is long, I know but that's life. Some people find opportunities reading what other don't... Impossible to make it smaller. I've been following this coin since January and this is the whole story of what I learned.
This link (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9PLvXSyWHc) is a video concerning the main problem WAX wants to resolve thanks to Blockchain and they're close to making it work. It's a matter of months. The adoption will be fast for many reasons, one of them being the fact that it is way easier for a gamer to understand how blockchain and wallets work than any other sector willing to adopt blockchain. My 68-year-old father will probably never use Bitcoin cause he doesn't understand it and frankly, he doesn't care that much at this point in his life so...
Now, let's talk about WAX a little.
Why would WAX explode? Why now ? Their main chain is already live in alpha testing and is currently used by a dapp called VGO. This is huge. The dapp wouldn't choose to run on the WAX chain if it wasn't already stable enough. WAX was forced to accelerate its evolution since the rupture between Steam and Opskins. Opskins is now focusing on WAX way more and this will start bringing the good news faster than expected. Anyway, that's just the beginning. Let's dig a little deeper because this is in my opinion, one of the best opportunities right now.
Why is WAX so cheap? There are many reasons for that.
1 - The Huobi disaster. Huobi didn't follow the instructions and information provided by WAX. Instead, they searched for the contract on Etherscan and listed a scam contract: https://etherscan.io/token/0x8e1701e9509250d808eeca648feb1b8d7eed0704 And based on this, Huobi gave the wrong supply information on the contract even though it was known for some days that the supply was increased by 10x. Before they realized and fixed their mistake, people had already deposited and sold scam token. Real coins were also sold. WAX set up a fund to reimburse or help reimburse the issue long before the deposits and withdrawals were unlocked too. Anyway, long story short, it was a mess. Some interesting stuff to read about it: https://medium.com/wax-io/wax-update-december-24-2017-8db1b1a9fee2 https://medium.com/wax-io/wax-huobi-pro-important-update-e3f7cb588be0 On top of that, some took advantage of the fact that the deposits were closed and the supply was getting smaller and smaller. It made the price pump quite high (around 2,75$) before falling in a free dive to around 0.25$. Of course, that didn't help much either.
2 - Their marketing approach for the cryptoworld hasn't been the best. By observing news and interviews, one could think that there won't be much happening till January 2019 and there was no reason for anyone to buy WAX so the price dropped but that is incorrect. It's just that WAX didn't want to be one of those projects announcing announcements of announcements that announce other announcements... Anyway, this was more a misunderstanding because they've been sticking to their roadmap since the beginning and they even have some advance now.
3 - The second reason provoked a poor marketing strategy for crypto traders. The result of that is the fact that most people have no idea of what WAX is. I hear a lot that there are other gaming coins that have been doing better. I hear people saying Enjin is better, or Funfair is better... Let's clear up the mess a little. Enjin and WAX are not competing against each other. I wouldn't be surprised to see them working together in the future as Gifto and Decentraland already do. WAX stands for Worldwide Asset eXchange. The word gaming is not in there. WAX will actually help those project grow by facilitating their access to the gaming industry. Let's not forget that Opskins is already a major player in gaming. Let's imagine WAX was never created by Opskins. Wouldn't it be great for Enjin to sign a partnership with Opskins? Well, a partnership with WAX would have the same effect for Enjin. That's why I said I wouldn't be surprised if they worked together.
4 - Add on all this the fact that WAX went live a month before the bear market starts so it basically didn't even have time to grow before dropping lower and lower but let's not forget that all coins dropped hard since the second half of January. WAX had the first three reasons on top of the bear market so it basically returned to ICO presale territory where it still is today (09/07/2018). WAX is seriously undervalued!
So basically, I just bought some extremely cheap WAX because of those factors. Compared to other projects, WAX is waaaaay undervalued. I mean come on guys, a $hitcoin like IOTA is almost at 3 billion CMC, in the top 10 coins with a massive network failure going on right now and WAX, with a real product and backed by a big company is at the bottom of top 100? How long do you think it will stay like that? Especially now that WAX is showing signs of waking up at last with the launch of their alpha version that seems to work perfectly well. So what is WAX and why it might be the one that might bring faster adoption? This is a good way to understand what WAX is all about.
Remember Crypto Kitties? They were (and still are) on the Ethereum blockchain. Crypto Kitties are a perfect example of what an NFT is (Non-Fungible Token, if you don't know what that is, you should). Did you see Crypto Kitties being traded on Binance or Coinbase? No. This is the first part where WAX kicks in. You CAN trade Crypto Kitties on Opskins and soon, you'll be able to trade them (and all other NFTs) on the WAX chain. WAX will be the Binance of NFTs and the WAX coin could be the equivalent of BNB.
Now imagine a scenario where you'd like to trade a Crypto Kittie that is on the Ethereum chain with a "Crypto Turtle" that is using NFTs from the EOS chain. How would you do that? This is the second part where WAX kicks in again with its Cross-Blockchain system. That will allow you to trade any NFT from any blockchain to any other. (Read more here: https://medium.com/wax-io/wax-platform-cross-blockchain-integration-airdrops-and-more-a909bfea240a)
Remember the video at the beginning? Imagine those Fortnite skins going on NFTs on the blockchain and being traded on the WAX platform... This is what WAX is trying to do. Create infrastructure for that new type of market that is exploding all around the world. Online gaming has no borders.
Ow, and guess what... That Cross-Blockchain part means many airdrops in the next 12 months but this is a small detail ;)
WAX will also have its own NFTs but that is just one of their aspects. Their main goal, as their name indicates, is to be a decentralized exchange platform for digital assets so it is not possible to compare it with other gaming coins.
So why now? Why is the sleeping giant waking up?
Because of what happened with Steam and Opskins and the fact that we're getting close to the beta testing and main launch. As said earlier, the whole Steam/Opskins situation forced Opskins to put more energy into WAX and June has been a festival of great news going unnoticed because of the price drop and the fact that the entire market is focusing on the global trend. Actually, Opskins were expecting something like that from Valve/Steam as they mention in this statement: https://blog.opskins.com/official-statement-regarding-valve-opskins-steam-accounts/
But here are some other things that make me believe that WAX is a screaming buy right now.
1 - The WAX chain is working and already being used by a dapp while not even officially live yet, few know about it and even fewer understand what that means. 2 - They seem to be ahead of their roadmap, meaning that the main chain airdrop should be announced earlier than expected and generally, delivering ahead of the roadmap is a good sign. 3 - The Robotcache airdrop is approaching. I expect it around the end of August. Airdrops always create predictable waves. 4 - WAX is currently waaaay undervalued and we're quite close to the bottom. Just take a look at the chart. Doesn't that look sexy? A change in behavior can be observed since the 29th of June. 5 - Basically, there's a lot of ignorance concerning WAX so if news start to come out and attract the attention, people will fomo in when they start realizing the potential. 6 - Adoption is imminent and that brings in retail money that makes the price explode. That is expected around January 2019 but speculators will get in before that, pushing the price up soon.
Anyway, I could write a book about why WAX is such a screaming buy right now but you don't read long articles ând this one is already too long soo... let's cut it short.
Everything will depend on BTC but I'm starting to wear my contrarian hat. The bigger picture indicates a change of BTC trend and I believe that at the beginning of this new rally, altcoins will shoot up with better ROI than BTC and since WAX is one of the most undervalued, it might 10x in the next 2 months to find a more realistic valuation, before falling again to prepare the big explosion of the end of the year. Adoption should push the price in the sky and put it in orbit around earth ;) The price is currently around 0.13$. In a realistic scenario based on the market, the fact that WAX has huge incentives to stake the mainchain coin and all the airdrops that will come in the next 12 months, I wouldn't be surprised to see the total value of a long hold (airdrops included) approaching 20$ to 50$ in a year from now. Of course, it won't go straight up and the waves I expect, have tops around 2$, 10$, 20$, 50$...
PS: I have a bet with a friend of mine. I have some good reasons to believe that Binance should list WAX soon. The recent volume rise, the upcoming updates and the fact that WAX is the only coin from the communities votes that haven't been added yet, make me believe that Binance will want a part of the WAX growth so, why not listing it... A nice bottle of wine in play here with my bet. I might be wrong but after all, this is a speculative market for now, right?
PS 2: As usual, DYOR and this is not a financial advice. I just shared my observation on WAX and I've been watching it since that Novogratz video saying that he is betting on WAX but also his last tweets about the next 6 bullish months.

After being in crypto for some months, this are the reasons why I see crypto fail in short term

Let me tell you the story of a tech savy dude, which got late into crypto and why he is pissed about the situation.
When I first got into crypto, I didn't look up what coins are with which tech. I didn't care, I came for the profit, like most do. The first part for my adventure was: "where can I buy safely and cheapest?". I got into coinbase and then into binance. Then after purchaising some low-budget coins, I started to do some research.
I discovered the definition of tokens, different project styles, the definition of hard forks, definition of market cap. Name it, I looked it up at least once and tried to understand. I don't know which coin/ token started where, I just knew how to buy most efficient for me and where to get news for different informations. I am a long holder and have some understanding in day-trading, so I don't take profit at 20% and wait for another opporunity. I tried, and it was too time consuming.
After getting into it and testing an transaction into coinbase, binance and then back to my bank account, I talked to my mom and we invested enough that if we get out with x100 we won't need to work ever again. And it wasn't enough to cry about, if we lose it. We aren't wealthy, but we have some decent income on regular basis.
And with all this informations I discovered some difficulties.
First thing I understood: My mom won't be able to buy any crypto by herself. Especially, since she saw what she has to do and knew: one mistake, and it's gone. She understood the process, she understood where are what kind of fees and why they are there. She didn't care about the fees. She didn't understand though, why it was so complicated to transfer, and why isn't there any "transaction failed, get money back" button.
So with this, the first thing why crypto is a turn off for the mainstream: You don't only can lose money by "false investment", you can lose money just by not care enough. It has nothing to do with being stupid, just being mindless for one second.
If you are going to say: "but, hey, it is stupid to be mindless for one second." I can only offer you one advise: go and work at retail for one week. And memorize what kind of people exist. I see people driving around in cars I can't even imagine buying in 5 years just looking at my Job, and I'm going to earn the double of the average german citizen. And these people are too stupid to put in their credit for their phone. They pay cash, get the number to load 20€ in to their phone, and can't do that. These people have thousands they would love to spend on crypto, if they knew about it and if they weren't stupid enough to use it. But they can't, because the tech is not even CLOSE to being user friendly.
I can't offer a solution for this while writing this, but I can tell you: as long as people can't buy crypto just buy clicking "buy here" and "insert pay-method here" they won't buy it.
But this is not the part which makes me mad. This was just the part why crypto is not mainstream yet. The part why I'm mad, is you. Yes, I'm talking with you reading this. If you aren't what I'm going to describe now, you are like me and you are fine. Else, you are the reason the mainstream people are confused and scared to invest/ convert their money to crypto.
The whole crypto community is a bunch of salty cults containing zealots and martyrs which know better than anyone else. The coin of this cults is the best and the other can go fuck themselves. People are offended and trying to offend other by calling their crypto different names ("bcash", "Bitcoin Core").
You know what I do, if I go into the btc or bitcoin subchannel? I call this coins btc and bch, so nobody asks "By "bitcoin", do you mean bch or btc?".
Further I'm so pissed reading "xyz is a shitcoin" and then pointing to another shitcoin and call it "the best project with best profits".
Best example: verge. Holy shit, I was pissing myself from the news, that the whole porn industry entered crypto. I didn't care it was verge, I cared they went into crypto! I wanted to open a bottle of whisky. And you know what you, ... you stupid zealots, did? you called it a shitcoin not worthy being chosen. (imagine me shaking my head while looking at you with disaproval. no, with hate.).
Do you even know what this looks like for people not involved in crypto? They see something they don't know about and there is the same amount of people approving and disapproving it. What do you think they are going to do? Buy YOUR shitcoin? Why? Because you said "This is a shitcoin, how dare it being integrated somewhere, this coin is much better"?! No, they are going to be confused and tell you to go to hell with crypto.
Why is, every time, when there is something you can divide, people are starting a religion war because of it? Why can't they just try to understand the other side and say: "I now understand this, but I still don't approve it." Why can't you just tell others what the idea is behind a coin, and they should think if they approve or not.
Let me take you some examples. "The idea of verge is having optional anonymity for transactions. However, there are more coins doing the same. We are still not sure which will dominate the market. It has partnerships with.... the others have partnerships with..."
Easy, right? people don't care about SegWit, LN, 32MB blocks, dogecoin dark, hard forks, nodes, whatever tech shit. The most they will care is: "What is the goal of this coin?" THE MOST! They won't even care about the dev team. They will care more, that you can get free GAS from NEO. hell, I'm a tech person, I study computer science and want to get involved in some blockchain related projects in the near future, and even I don't care about most of these things.
You know why? Because the most important part ist: "does it work?" And "how much does it cost extra for me?"
I can explain you so much from a mainstream and professional perspective why bch is now increasing more in value than btc. I can explain you why Nano and VeChain are the coins/ tokens which don't get hate, but at most, they get disapproval. But I won't because you will call me a shill. These sentences weren't shill, these are my observations.
TL:DR: You should read this shit. However: stop hating other coins. Stay united. Be "the crypto community", not the "shitcoin community". If you don't know enough about something, shut up. No, shut up and go fuck yourself. And if you DO know about something, explain people with no knowledge what it IS and what it was DESIGNED for, and shut up about calling it a shitcoin. You can call a shitcoin, if it is 100% a scam. Not if it is 99%, if it is 100% guaranteed scam. People are getting confused if they read one coin is shit and it is not shit. This btc vs bch bashing is the reason why people wouldn't even get involved in crypto. Just fact-check:
If you don't like these definitions, use your own, without calling it "shit" or "scam" or "stolen".
I tried to write it as neutral as possible. I hold at least 15 different tokens for various reasons. I don't shill any coins, and I provide my family the same information about investment in crypto as I would like to hear about it. neutral, and not calling anything shit.
Crypto can only win united, not if everybody calls the others names.
